LAWTON, Okla. (September 11) -- The Alliance for Secure Energy named Rep. Trey Caldwell of Oklahoma’s 63rd district its inaugural Power Player of the Year, an award recognizing a legislator who has significantly contributed to advancing secure, reliable, and affordable energy policies in Oklahoma. Leaders from the Alliance for Secure Energy, along with constituents and other distinguished guests, celebrated Caldwell’s contributions to energy policy at the Lawton Country Club on Tuesday evening.

"The development of reliable, modernized infrastructure and policies empower Oklahoma businesses with secure, affordable energy," said Jeff Cloud, executive director of the Alliance for Secure Energy. "Representative Caldwell has been instrumental in advancing these priorities in the legislative session, making Oklahoma an even better place to live and do business."

Alliance for Secure Energy supports policies and regulations that work for infrastructure expansion and upgrades, new electric generation, environmental stewardship, economic development, sustainability and affordability.

"Oklahoma’s energy future is its economic future,” said Caldwell. “Policies that support reliable electricity maintain our competitive edge and attract, retain, and support businesses throughout Oklahoma. It's an honor to be recognized by the Alliance for Secure Energy, a group aligned with my personal commitment to responsible policies that promote low-cost, secure energy for Oklahoma businesses and families."

With energy costs 20% to 30% below the national average, businesses operating in the state hold a significant competitive advantage. Kinnee Tilly from Oklahoma Manufacturing Alliance spoke on behalf of the Lawton business community, sharing how advocates for responsible energy policy like Caldwell make Oklahoma a better place to do business.

“The 63rd district has a true economic development partner in Representative Caldwell,” said Vice President of the Oklahoma Manufacturing Alliance Kinnee Tilly. “We know that energy affordability and reliability are critical to attracting and retaining business, and members like Representative Caldwell are working to make sure Oklahoma law upholds and protects reasonable energy policy.”

Caldwell is elected by Oklahoma’s 63rd district including the cities of Lawton, Hobart, Fredrick and Tipton and portions of Comanche, Cotton, Kiowa, and Tillman counties.

Alliance for Secure Energy advances policies that balance affordable energy prices while ensuring utilities remain financially secure so they can continue to invest in infrastructure and provide reliable service.
